Here is the baby quilt so far. I'm probably not going to get around to binding it for a few weeks, and I'm really proud of the progress so I have to share.
Here is the top. I followed the instructions found here:
My friend has a long arm machine and graciously let me come take time on Saturday to quilt it. I was scared to death, because I'm a bit of an OCD perfectionist, and there is very little control of the machine. But we finished it and it turned out FANTASTIC. I stand back and look at it and it's perfect. Now I just have to find time to bind it!

Changing Pad Cover
I couldn't find anything in the stores that I liked, so I bought some pink dot minky and made a new cover for the changing pad. I followed this tutorial and it was a piece of cake. Well, besides the fact that I chose minky! The nursery is really starting to come together! Now I have to decide what to do with the baskets on the changing table!

Fabric Flower
I took a quick break from sewing for the nursery to do a 15 minute project. We were having a luau at school, but thanks to the large tummy I've got going on I can't fit into my Hawaiian skirt or shirt. In fact, I haven't fit into the shirt for 6 years, but I've held onto it because I bought it on vacation there and couldn't part with it. So I decided to cut it up and make a fabric flower to wear. It was perfect, because it matches the red earrings that my parents got me from their trip to Hawaii. The flower was a piece of cake, I followed the tutorial here. The tutorial says to use ribbon, and I can see how that would work better. This fabric was stiff enough that it worked, but regular cotton wouldn't have worked as well.
I attached it to some shell necklaces I had, and I loved how it turned out! Ignore the cheesy look on my face... this is what happens when I ask my husband to take a picture!

Sewing for Baby Girl
I have been in a sewing frenzy to get things ready for baby girl's nursery. I have gotten so much done, but I haven't completely finished a thing! I have a quilt top done, a valance done but not hung, a changing pad cover 1/2 done, a crib skirt cut and ready to sew, and a bumper pad bought and ready to be altered. I'm also planning a pillow with my fabric scraps, and some decorations to hang in the room. It's all coming together SO well, and I can't wait to get it put together. It's been so much fun to gather ideas, find fabric, and really make this nursery come to life!

Reusable Snack Bags
My co-worker has made many comments over the years about how many ziploc bags we use in our lunches. I have been meaning for a while to try making reusable bags, and her birthday was the first week of March. I'm a little late, but I thought it would be fun for us to try some out and if they work I'll make some more!
I used cotton scraps for the outside layer, and white PUL fabric for the inside. I started with 7"x14" pieces. I used velcro to seal the top. I'm not sure how they'll work out, but I'm excited to give them a try!

Bean Bags
I have so many projects on my list, and they all have a deadline. (I suppose the stuff for the baby room could be finished after she gets here, but I'd like for it to be done!)
I decided to start with something really easy - beanbags. I'm using them for E's birthday party at the end of April! For these, I used 5" squares. Easy-peasy!
