DIY Snow Globe

I loved this idea when I saw it on pinterest and I just had to do it! You take a picture of your child, cut it out, laminate it and leave an edge around the photo to seal it. Then, I put it in a jar with a little tree, some glitter, water, and glycerin (found in the pharmacy section - it makes the water "thicker" to help the glitter float around). I superglued the lid on the jar, and now Emmett has his very own snow globe! He loved it!

The photo we used - it was SO hard to get him to make this pose!

Valentine's Day Cards

One of my goals for this year is to use the craft supplies that I have. I've had a box of blank cards in the closet for about 6 years now, and I've never had motivation to use them. Then I saw a cute idea for valentines on pinterest, and I remembered these cute pink striped cards with the white strip, ready to go and perfect for this project because it would hide the picture underneath the white strip. I used all supplies that I already had except the photos! Woohoo! I made 15 cards in all for daddy, cousins, grandparents, and great-grandparents. So cute.

The hardest part of this project was getting E to give me his hand to trace. For some reason he decided it was fun to run away every time I tried. The cutting wasn't a problem - I'm a teacher. I'm used to cutting things out in bulk!

Can't wait to get these in the mail!

Tile Magnets

I saw this idea on pinterest, and I loved it! I also knew it would make a great gift. The tiles were about $2.50 for a sheet of 36! I already had the mod podge, hot glue, and magnets from other projects. I wanted to use some instagram photos, so I ordered those from Persnickety Prints. They were a bit pricy ($.35 each) but it was worth it to not have to figure out how to print them 2"x2"!

I love how they turned out!
