DIY Snow Globe

I loved this idea when I saw it on pinterest and I just had to do it! You take a picture of your child, cut it out, laminate it and leave an edge around the photo to seal it. Then, I put it in a jar with a little tree, some glitter, water, and glycerin (found in the pharmacy section - it makes the water "thicker" to help the glitter float around). I superglued the lid on the jar, and now Emmett has his very own snow globe! He loved it!

The photo we used - it was SO hard to get him to make this pose!

Infinity Scarf

I really wanted a Christmas scarf, so I found this cute red and green dot fabric at Hobby Lobby. It's just plain old cotton! I probably would prefer a knit, but the cotton worked just fine! I bought a yard, cut it in half, sewed the two pieces together, made a big long tube, and sewed the ends together. There were lots of tutorials out there, but I just kind of made it up as I went along. Both seams ended up behind my neck, so it worked great! I didn't have a great picture of me wearing the scarf - Susie and I have clashing reds in this picture!

Christmas decoration

At our church activity they had extras of these vinyl words, so I decided to make a quick little decoration. I painted the board, put scrapbook paper on, added the word, and then tied some ribbon on. Easy peasy!

Christmas Card Holder

I have been on a crafting hiatus, but not by choice. I have so many Christmas-y things I want to do, but E has been sick, I haven't been 100%, work is kicking my butt, and it's time for the annual Christmas program at church and yours truly is the music coordinator. So, I managed to get one teeny project going. I bought this Christmas card holder from pickyourplum.com, and I added the ribbon (exciting I know!) and I covered some clothespins with washi tape from downtowntape.com. I can't wait to fill it up! So, as pitiful as this project is, it makes me smile when I walk by and see the cards.

Christmas Countdown

Sofia and I have had this on our list for a while. I've had the muffin tin for months! But here it is - just waiting on some Christmas-y ribbon to hang it up! I was able to use my cricut to cut the scalloped shapes, and I bought stickers for the numbers. I'm going to put little slips of paper with Christmas activities in each one.
