Toy Workbench
My dad and Cam did the building on this project, I just gave them a little input about what I wanted. I painted it all and added the vinyl hammers and screwdrivers (thank you cricut!). I love how it turned out, and E hasn't stopped playing with it and all his tools!
Christmas decoration
At our church activity they had extras of these vinyl words, so I decided to make a quick little decoration. I painted the board, put scrapbook paper on, added the word, and then tied some ribbon on. Easy peasy!

Nativity Board
It was a very quick project - stain the board, rub a candle on the edges, paint the board, sand to distress, put the vinyl on!

Winter Baby Shower
My co-worker and I threw a baby shower for another co-worker. She's having a girl, so we had a pink and silver winter themed shower. It turned out great, and we had a blast putting it together!
I made the invites with a pink snowflake background:
A view of all the food.
Drink table with ornaments on the window. Love the silver tree too.
The best cake ever. Swiss chocolate cake.
Gift table and our clothesline
Close-up of the ornament favors and poem:
More ornaments:
Last minute we realized that we didn't have anything for Nicole to wear, so I improvised and came up with this really cute snowflake pin.

Christmas Card Holder
I have been on a crafting hiatus, but not by choice. I have so many Christmas-y things I want to do, but E has been sick, I haven't been 100%, work is kicking my butt, and it's time for the annual Christmas program at church and yours truly is the music coordinator. So, I managed to get one teeny project going. I bought this Christmas card holder from pickyourplum.com, and I added the ribbon (exciting I know!) and I covered some clothespins with washi tape from downtowntape.com. I can't wait to fill it up! So, as pitiful as this project is, it makes me smile when I walk by and see the cards.

Dry Erase Countdown
I saw an idea for a Halloween countdown, and found this jack-o-lantern on one of my cricut cartridges. Perfect! It looks really cute on the mantle! And it only cost me $1 because I had everything else I needed to finish it!
Height Growth Chart
Cam had one of these growing up and wanted one for our family, but we knew that we won't be in this house forever. I saw this idea on pinterest and had to make one. I used vinyl from Pick Your Plum, my Cricut to cut the numbers, some craft stain gel, and a few coats of polyurethane to finish it off. Can't wait to watch E (and any future children) grow!

Hobbes and Halloween
I can't wait for E to be old enough to choose his own costume. I saw this on pinterest, and knew I had to make a Hobbes. E will make a good Calvin with his hair spiky (it'll be just the right length by Halloween) and I have his whole outfit!
This was my first stuffed animal, and probably my last. It was a pain, especially sewing the fleece and doing the hand-sewn bits. I used a little help from here and here. I love him though, and now I just have to hide him until Halloween! E is already trying to pick the eyes off!

School Blog
I've decided to create a school blog. I have benefited so much from other teachers out there, so I want to make it easier and have it all in one place. The link is: http://megteachesthird.blogspot.com

Tile Magnets
I saw this idea on pinterest, and I loved it! I also knew it would make a great gift. The tiles were about $2.50 for a sheet of 36! I already had the mod podge, hot glue, and magnets from other projects. I wanted to use some instagram photos, so I ordered those from Persnickety Prints. They were a bit pricy ($.35 each) but it was worth it to not have to figure out how to print them 2"x2"!
I love how they turned out!

Nap Mat #2
Finally got around to making the other nap mat. Now the boys won't wrestle because they're sharing a mat! I remembered to take a picture of the back this time.
A view of the back - pillows can come out so the cover can be washed. |
All folded up. Used the strip of the sheet I cut off to make a tie. |
He knows it's his bed - they both love them! YAY! |

Christmas Countdown
Sofia and I have had this on our list for a while. I've had the muffin tin for months! But here it is - just waiting on some Christmas-y ribbon to hang it up! I was able to use my cricut to cut the scalloped shapes, and I bought stickers for the numbers. I'm going to put little slips of paper with Christmas activities in each one.

Changing Pad
I got this idea from Sofia- I used the Babyville fabric from JoAnn's, and just made a simple changing pad. I love the monster fabric, and it folds up and wipes up nicely so it's easier to carry around than other ones!

Crayon Holder
E used the twistable crayons in nursery, and I really liked them so I decided to get him some and make him a crayon holder. Not to bad for something I whipped up in less than an hour!

Car Holder #2
Just finished E's car holder. Now I have one more sewing project - then I'm going to put the machine away and work on a few crafty things. Love the fabrics on this one (and the other one too. I really can't decide which one I like more!)
More diaper straps
I cut and folded all these at the beginning of summer, and I FINALLY got them all done. I've already mailed off three of them, so I made 19 total!! Now I have a stash of gifts for friends and family! :)

Car Holder
This was SO much easier to make than the car wallet, and I love the road fabric! This one is for E's best buddy, but I'm almost done with E's too. I love it!

Nap Mat
It's not pretty, but it's something for E to sleep on at Gigi's house. I used a cheap twin size sheet and 4 cheap pillows. I made it so the pillows can be taken out and the sheet can be washed. Working on another one this week! I put the initial on the bottom so they wouldn't be laying their heads on them. They might actually stay on that way. :)

Silhouette
I saw this silhouette idea somewhere and knew that I really wanted it for E's room, next to his newborn handprint and footprint. I absolutely LOVE how it turned out, and I was so thrilled to start and finish a project in one day!!!

Key Rack
We used to have a key dish, until a certain little trouble maker got too tall and could reach it on our entry table. I saw the key rack on this blog, and I knew that's what I wanted. However, the space for mine is too small, so I had to go vertical. I would have preferred the other way, but I like the end result and we have a place to hang keys!
In its spot. |
A picture outside, because the lighting inside was bad. |

Car Wallet
Saw this idea on Etsy - it took a long time to figure out how to make it, but now that I've done one I think I can do it faster and better.

"1" onesie
Made this for J's 1st birthday party - Dr. Seuss themed! The only difference between this and E's "1" shirt is that I stitched around the edges with a zig zag because I'm not sure if the mom would want to keep it or not so I wanted to make it a little more durable. I love the colors and I'm so excited to party!
Art time - summer handprints
I saw this on pinterest and knew I had to do it after our beach vacation. Those shells are from our sunrise walk on the beach at Hilton Head! E is getting MUCH better about letting me do handprints!

Terrarium
A student gave me some succulent plants for my birthday since we were studying our plant unit in science. I decided the best way to present them would be a terrarium. I had it all nice and layered, but some little hands found their way into the bowl and pulled up one of the plants (thankfully, it wasn't the cactus!). So, I tried to fix it but now it doesn't look quite right. I'm hoping the plants will fill in and it will make a cool display to have in my classroom!
